30 million. The current estimated number of women, men and children that are either being sexually exploited or trafficked for labor and/or the sex trade. 30 million modern day slaves! Staggering. Mind-numbing. Overwhelming. Enough to makes us shake our heads and turn away from it. It can seem too big, too much to comprehend, let alone do anything about it. And let’s face it – it is a very uncomfortable topic, unsettling and upsetting at the very least. With numbers like that, it is easy to wonder if it is worth even trying. We might wonder if any of us can do anything to make a difference… really? The answer that question is a resounding: YES!
On Wednesday, March 18th, Willow Creek will be hosting a Ministry Fair with several partner organizations who are doing just that – making a difference in the lives of the at risk, the sexually exploited, and the trafficked. A spokesperson from each ministry will give a brief overview of what their organization does and will then be available to answer questions afterward. There will be opportunity to sign up to receive additional information about each organization and ways to get involved. Let us know you're coming on Eventbrite!
